Suessa is seeking a AWS MSK (Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka) System Lead / SME to join a premier multinational lab, a leader in both human and animal healthcare to own and support an enterprise streaming platform.
This role ensures that their Amazon MSK environment is reliable, secure, and scalable, enabling real‑time data flows across the organization. The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
Key Responsibilities
-Act as the primary owner of the Amazon MSK platform, ensuring stable and secure operation.
-Oversee the setup, configuration, and maintenance of Kafka clusters, topics, and integrations.
-Monitor platform performance and health using AWS tools such as CloudWatch and integrated logging.
-Ensure security best practices including encryption, IAM permissions, and secure authentication mechanisms.
-Partner with business and technical stakeholders to support new streaming use cases and integrations.
-Lead incident resolution for complex platform issues and coordinate improvements to prevent recurrence.
-Maintain system documentation and support knowledge handover to operational teams.
-Perform security management tasks such as user account reviews, technical account reviews, and vulnerability assessments.
-Follow SOP activities in a highly regulated and compliant environment.
Required Skills & Experience
-3+ years hands‑on experience with Apache Kafka, AWS MSK and related services (or similar Event Driven Integration platform).
-Understanding of Kafka concepts such as brokers, partitions, consumer groups, and replication.
-Proven experience with Terraform for provisioning and managing AWS infrastructure, ideally including networking, IAM, and MSK resources.
-Familiarity with monitoring tools and KPIs such as consumer lag, throughput, and latency.
-Strong communication skills and the ability to work with multiple business and IT teams.
-Experience in a system support role and with managing system incidents/tickets in IT service management systems (e.g., ServiceNow). ITIL knowledge especially Incident, Problem, Configuration and Change management processes is preferred.
-Bachelor´s degree in IT (or in progress); experience in regulated environments is a plus.
-Fluent English (written and oral) is a must.
